Recycling
Functional waste management in compliance with requirements is responsible and also creates cost savings. Smooth waste sorting and cleanliness are also an important part of occupational safety and affect the attractiveness of Kyläkauppa.
Solar power
A giant solar panel of 3,500 panels produces renewable electricity for Kyläkauppa’s needs. The solar power plant is Finland’s largest department store plant, and also the biggest roof-installed solar power system. It covers ca. 12,000m² of the 65,000m² roof area.
LED lighting system
We aim to increase our customer comfort, decrease our carbon footprint, and promote sustainable development with the help of our renewed, energy-efficient lightning system. With the new LED lightning system, Kyläkauppa saves over 60% in the energy used for lightning.
